I am too busy to exercise! I hear that a lot as people skip class or say that as they skip more and more classes. I am not insinuating they are not but what are you giving up every time you skip class? Mental health, physical health, less stress, an hour of affordable therapy to name a few. But I can’t force someone to show up to class, even though I wish I could. Not because I want them to neglect their other responsibilities but because I know they need 1-hour to themselves to disconnect from the daily grind and connect with their inner self.

How long can you wait before giving yourself the attention you deserve? Wait until you have a mental meltdown with family, friends, or coworkers or until you don’t have the energy to do anything and can’t figure out why. With everything going on today, stress and anxiety levels are higher than ever before. An outlet is needed for everyone and exercise is the one that gives back more than others. If you don’t believe me let’s look at a few others:

Drinking alcohol: Alcohol lowers inhibition and is toxic to the body, sometimes leaving you dehydrated and at times with a compromised immune system. I am not saying drinking is a bad thing, I have a few cold ones from time to time but it’s not my outlet to feel better.

Watching TV: Sit on the couch for hours may make you feel lazier and less accomplished.

Eating: Many people tend to overeat when stress or bored, hence why so many gained and continue to gain weight during the Covid pandemic.

If these choices sound familiar it is because most of us are guilty of using at least one of these to relieve stress or disconnect. Any of these options usually leaves you feeling the same if not worst. But you can change that by choosing to be better for at least 1-hour a day and working out. It’s not being selfish, it’s giving yourself Self-Love. If you can’t be good to yourself, how can you be good to others? If you need a kick in the butt to get organized and start exercising, we are here to help.
